Jetour WMotors, the official distributor of Jetour vehicles in Nigeria, has brought the 2026 Jetour Africa Expedition to Lagos, putting eight units of the Jetour T1, T2 and G700 through a demanding 128-kilometre adventure that blended city driving, lifestyle experiences and an intensive off-road challenge.

The Pan-African lifestyle and adventure initiative, designed to celebrate exploration, mobility, community and the spirit of adventure, commenced in Egypt on July 19, 2026. It is touring 12 African countries, with each participating market contributing its own unique experience to the continental journey.

For the Lagos leg, Jetour WMotors took advantage of favourable weather on Sunday, August 9, to flag off the expedition from its showroom on Adeyemi Alakija Street, Victoria Island. The convoy passed through Lekki Market, Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge, Freedom Park, National Theatre, Ahmadu Bello Way and Third Mainland Bridge before heading to the Ikorodu off-road circuit.

The highpoint of the expedition was the performance-focused off-road challenge near Ikorodu, where the Jetour vehicles tackled steep slopes, bumps, uneven surfaces and other demanding terrains.

The challenging conditions provided a real-world test of the vehicles’ power, control, durability and four-wheel-drive capabilities, giving participants an opportunity to witness firsthand how the T1, T2 and G700 handled different terrains while retaining the adventure and performance attributes associated with the Jetour brand.

Speaking to journalists during the exercise, Managing Director of Jetour WMotors, Tony Jamal, said the expedition was designed to showcase the capability, safety, luxury and adventure features of the vehicles while highlighting the potential of the Nigerian automotive market.

Jamal said the carefully selected routes were intended not only to demonstrate the versatility of the Jetour range but also to showcase different aspects of Lagos and project a positive image of Nigeria to the rest of the world.

He described the off-road segment as particularly important because it provided an opportunity for the appropriate Jetour 4×4 models to demonstrate their capabilities under demanding conditions.

“We also showcased the capacity of Jetour, with the off-road experience of the 4×4 models. They have a 2.0 turbocharged engine with Euro 6, which is the most advanced engine, low fuel consumption and high torque. It shows us what Jetour can do”, he said.

Beyond the vehicle demonstrations, Jetour WMotors used the expedition to reinforce its commitment to community engagement and road safety. During the convoy, participants distributed road safety awareness materials to drivers and other road users, while Bigi Premium Drinking Water provided hydration to members of the public, including motorists.

The day began with a high-energy fitness and mobility warm-up session at the Jetour showroom, led by professional trainers from I-Fitness, while Frootaz provided refreshments for participants.

Jamal said the expedition also offered an opportunity to demonstrate to Jetour’s manufacturers in China that Nigeria represents a significant market for the brand.

“Jetour is all over Nigeria now. We have a big trust and we have to thank God that Jetour trusts us as the official distributor.

“The people appreciate our services and our vehicles come directly from the factory and are not made for other markets”, he said.

He disclosed that Jetour China appointed WMotors as its official distributor in Nigeria, giving the company the mandate to organise the Nigerian leg of the continental expedition.

2027 Expedition to Go Bigger

Looking ahead, Jamal said the 2027 edition would be bigger in scope, extending beyond Africa and attracting participants from China, with a stronger focus on off-road driving and the introduction of new Jetour models.

“It will be a bigger event in 2027 and it will be more than Africa. We are preparing and people will come from China, especially for the off-road experience. Next year, we will also have new models and they will be shown in Jetour WMotors showrooms”, he said.

Seven-Year Unlimited-Mileage Warranty

Beyond vehicle aesthetics, safety, luxury and performance, Jamal reaffirmed Jetour WMotors’ commitment to robust after-sales support, including a seven-year, unlimited-mileage warranty.

The warranty, he said, provides customers with greater peace of mind and forms part of the company’s broader after-sales support package for Jetour customers in Nigeria.

The Lagos expedition therefore served not only as a test of Jetour’s vehicles across urban and off-road environments, but also as a platform for WMotors to strengthen the brand’s connection with Nigerian consumers while projecting Lagos as a destination capable of hosting major Pan-African automotive lifestyle experiences.
