In the wake of a devastating flood that displaced hundreds in Ogidi, United Nigeria Airlines has stepped in with critical support, donating ₦5 million and essential food items to affected families.

The disaster, which swept through Ire, Abor, and Ezi Ogidi villages in Idemili North Local Government Area, left widespread destruction—damaging homes and disrupting livelihoods. In response, the airline, through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, reached out to over 200 households with food relief, supplies, and financial assistance.

During the aid distribution, Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, Chairman of United Nigeria Airlines and Founder of Pro-Value Humanity Foundation—expressed deep concern over the scale of the destruction.

“We are hopeful that our donation will help alleviate the suffering of displaced families in Ogidi. We came here with relief materials to bring smiles and restore hope to those affected,” he said.

Okonkwo reiterated the airline’s commitment to social impact, stating, “at United Nigeria Airlines, giving back to the communities we serve is central to our mission. Beyond flying people across cities, we are committed to uniting hearts, restoring hope, and standing by those in need”.

The event ended on a heartfelt note as beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the intervention, which many described as a lifeline during an incredibly difficult time.
