Stanley Olisa, a respected and influential figure in Nigeria’s corporate communications and public relations landscape, has been honoured with the Corporate Communications Professional of the Year award at the 2025 Lagos Public Relations Industry Gala and Awards (LaPRIGA).
The prestigious recognition places him among the most accomplished communications professionals in the country and underscores his growing impact on strategic communications practice in Nigeria and beyond.
The LaPRIGA awards, regarded as one of the foremost industry platforms for celebrating excellence in public relations and strategic communications, recognise professionals and organisations that demonstrate outstanding performance, innovation and measurable impact. Organised annually by the Lagos State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), the event also aims to promote global best practices and professional standards within Nigeria’s communications industry.
The Corporate Communications Professional Award specifically honours in-house communications leaders who have shown exceptional ability in building, protecting and sustaining organisational reputation while directly supporting overall business and strategic objectives. In the highly competitive 2025 category, Olisa was shortlisted alongside senior communications executives from some of Nigeria’s most prominent corporations, including Nestlé and Nigerian Bottling Company Plc, making his win particularly notable.
Currently serving as Global Public Relations Lead at Helpster, Olisa brings over a decade of professional experience spanning diverse and highly regulated sectors such as aviation, oil and gas, technology, financial services, health, and international development. His work has consistently involved navigating complex, multi-stakeholder environments and delivering integrated internal and external communications strategies designed to build trust, manage risk and enhance organisational credibility.
According to the LaPRIGA judges, Olisa distinguished himself through his strong leadership in reputation management during periods of organisational change, demonstrating a clear and consistent alignment between communications strategy, executive decision-making and broader business priorities. The judging panel noted that his approach delivered sustained, measurable impact on corporate reputation and stakeholder confidence, positioning communications as a critical driver of organisational success rather than a support function.
Reacting to the recognition, Olisa described the award as a reflection of the evolving role of communications in modern organisations. He stated: “Corporate communications is no longer peripheral. It shapes credibility, guides trust and determines how organisations earn their social licence to operate”.
His remarks highlight the growing expectation for communications leaders to operate at the highest strategic level, contributing directly to governance, leadership decisions and long-term value creation.
The 2025 LaPRIGA ceremony brought together leading practitioners, executives and stakeholders from across Nigeria’s public relations and communications ecosystem, reinforcing the industry’s commitment to excellence, professionalism and global relevance.
Olisa’s recognition at this year’s awards further cements his reputation as one of the leading voices shaping the future of corporate communications in Nigeria.
