Julius Berger Nigeria PLC is strengthening its footprint beyond infrastructure by expanding impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives across Rivers State, touching lives and empowering communities.

In a recent intervention, the company brought excitement and support to Community Primary School, Ogbunabali, Port Harcourt, by sponsoring its annual inter-house sports competition. In addition to awarding trophies to top-performing houses, the firm provided canopies and other logistics to ensure a successful outing.

Speaking at the event, Community Liaison Officer, Hon. Chike, encouraged pupils to remain focused and disciplined, noting that the company is committed to supporting their academic and physical development.

The company also hosted Senior Secondary students from Bloombreed Schools, Port Harcourt, at its Regional Office along the Eastern Bypass. The visit featured a safety induction session led by Regional HSE/CSR Manager, Tim Oseghe, followed by technical engagements aimed at exposing students to career opportunities in engineering and construction.

The highlight of the visit was a guided tour of the company’s facilities, where professionals across various departments demonstrated modern operational processes and industry practices.

Earlier in February, Julius Berger sponsored joint inter-house sports competitions for multiple schools in the state. At one of the events, Secretary of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Gabriel Ubani, urged students to pursue both academic and sporting excellence, stressing the value of balanced development.

At Model Primary School, Nkpogwu, company representatives reinforced the importance of holistic child development, encouraging pupils to adopt positive and healthy lifestyles.

Oseghe explained that the company’s CSR initiatives are strategic efforts aimed at shaping future leaders. He noted that the goal is to promote the overall well-being of students and equip them with the skills and mindset needed to thrive in life.

Beyond education and sports, Julius Berger continues to extend support to vulnerable groups through donations to orphanages, vocational training programmes for young girls, and broader community development initiatives designed to promote resilience and opportunity.

Through these sustained efforts, Julius Berger is reinforcing its commitment not just to building infrastructure, but to nurturing talent, supporting communities, and creating lasting social impact.
