Aero Contractors has dismissed claims that the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) is running the airline, describing such assertions as misleading and unfounded.
In a clarification issued by its public relations agency, SY&T Communications Ltd, the airline stated that it is currently under receivership a status typically associated with companies undergoing financial restructuring and not indicative of operational control by AMCON.
The statement emphasised that the airline’s daily operations are firmly under the leadership of its Managing Director, Captain Ado Sanusi, a seasoned aviation professional credited with stabilising and effectively managing the carrier.
According to the clarification, while AMCON retains the right to second staff to entities in which it has vested interests, including Aero Contractors and Arik Air, this does not translate to direct management or operational control.
“It is misleading for anybody to claim that AMCON is running Aero. That is pure mischief”, the statement noted.
The airline further highlighted Sanusi’s track record, noting his previous experience at Arik Air and asserting that his professional competence remains unquestioned by critics.
Aero Contractors reiterated its confidence in the current management, maintaining that the airline continues to operate under established corporate structures despite its receivership status.
