After 32 years of Meritorious service, the General Manager of Search and Rescue (SAR) at the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Mr. Sunday Iwalaye, has retired from the agency in a memorable celebration attended by colleagues, friends and family members who gathered to celebrate his remarkable career.

During the occasion, three books authored by Iwalaye were launched: “A Hand Book on Aeronautical Search & Rescue” and “A Brief Note (3) on Area Airways Non-Radar Control: Non-Radar Separation: Enroute & Terminal”. The books are expected to be useful to new entrants and existing aviation professionals.

The Managing Director of NAMA, Engr. Farouk Umar, described Iwalaye as a good, competent professional, and a family man, who has set a good example for others to emulate. Iwalaye’s colleagues and friends also paid glowing tributes to his hard work, dedication, and humane character.

Iwalaye expressed delight at the encomiums and appreciation for the NAMA management’s support throughout his career.

He also commended the agency for sponsoring the publication of his books, which he hopes will contribute to be useful for the development of the aviation industry.
