Chairman of Air Peace, Dr. Allen Onyema, has clarified that his statements regarding the payment of ₦100 million for land intended for the airline’s Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Anambra State were true.
Contrary to claims by the Traditional Ruler of Umueri Community, Igwe Emeka, Air Peace dealt directly with the Anambra State Government for the land, and payment was made accordingly.
The airline has provided evidence of the transaction, including an official receipt dated August 26, 2021, and a Certificate of Occupancy issued on September 14, 2021.
Onyema emphasised his commitment to transparency and integrity, stating that attempts to defame him would not distract Air Peace from its mission to drive positive change and promote excellence.
Air Peace remains focused on completing the MRO project, which aims to create jobs, strengthen Nigeria’s aviation industry, and position the country as a hub for aircraft maintenance in Africa.
