Onyema underscored the economic significance of the project, noting that Nigerian airlines spent over $180 billion last year on overseas maintenance and spare parts.

The Minister of Aviation hailed the project as a “national treasure” that will save Nigeria billions in foreign exchange, attract foreign airlines, and create unprecedented opportunities for Nigerians.

Technical support for the facility will be provided by Embraer of Brazil, ensuring global-standard operations.

The MRO facility is expected to be completed within 24 months, after which it will service not only Air Peace aircraft but also those of other Nigerian and international airlines.

With this project, Air Peace is reaffirming its commitment to national growth, job creation, and youth empowerment.
