
Flotilla Academy of Marine Technology (FAMT) has felicitated a seasoned maritime journalist, Dr. Bolaji Akinola over his appointment as media aide to the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Hon. Adegboyega Oyetola, saying it has no doubts on Bolaji’s competence and capability to deliver excellently on the job.
In a press statement issued on Wednesday by the management of the academy and signed by its Technical Director, Engr. Adakole Ejegbudu, the Academy also hails the Minister for the choice of Akinola, describing it as putting a round peg in a round hole.
According to Adakole, “the appointment of Akinola underscores the Minister’s commitment and readiness to strengthening the Ministry’s communication framework and ensuring that the vision and achievements of the ministry are clearly and effectively articulated and communicated to relevant stakeholders and the general public.
“We have no doubt that Akinola, being a highly respected maritime and corporate communications expert, will bring over 25 years of extensive experience and deep industry knowledge to his new role to ensure that Oyetola succeeds in his mandate as the pioneer minister of the newly created Ministry of Marine and Blue economy.
“The Management of Flotilla Academy wishes him well and prays the Almighty to guide and lead him as he takes on this onerous task”.
Recall that FAMT is a monotechnic dedicated to providing high-quality, industry-relevant diploma programmes in four key areas of marine technology: Naval Architecture, Ship/Boat Building, Marine Surveying, and Marine Engineering.
It aims to address the skills gap in the marine industry by equipping students with practical knowledge and technical expertise, leveraging strong partnerships with Practical Boat Design and Seamanship International as well as MaxBoat Corporation of the Philippines.
