Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba has officially taken over as the new Customs Area Controller (CAC) at Apapa Command, succeeding Assistant Comptroller-General (ACG) Babatunde Olomu, who was recently promoted to an Assistant Controller General of Customs (ACG).
During the handover ceremony, Oshoba expressed his commitment to sustaining the excellent performance of the Command and improving on Olomu’s achievements.
Oshoba emphasised his desire to enhance revenue generation, deepen enforcement and security, and foster stakeholder relationships. He also pledged to leverage digital innovations, such as the Unified Customs Management System, and promote trade facilitation programmes.
Olomu, on the other hand, reflected on his 15-month tenure, highlighting significant milestones, including a record-breaking revenue collection of over ₦2 trillion and ₦214.9 billion collected in August 2025. He also noted the Command’s efforts in anti-smuggling operations, with 75 seizures of contraband goods.

The outgoing Controller expressed gratitude to stakeholders and officers for their support, urging them to extend the same cooperation to Oshoba.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials, port stakeholders, and members of the press, marking a smooth transition of leadership at the Command.
