
With the huge success of the just concluded 9th Aviation Africa (AVAF) Summit held in Kigali, Rwanda, the government of Kenya has pledged to uphold the event’s high standards and build on its reputation for excellence as the next year host.
The choice of Kenya was announced by the Chairman of AVAF2025, Alan Peaford, during the closing ceremony of the 9th edition of the Summit held in Kigali, Rwanda on Friday.
Kenya’s Principal Secretary for Aviation and Aerospace Development, Ms. Teresia Mbaika, in response, expressed her country’s willingness to host the event.
“We look forward to welcoming you in Nairobi, Kenya, a vibrant city and a place known for rich culture, adventure experiences including climate of the majestic Mount Kenya. Welcome to Nairobi, welcome to Kenya. God bless you, God bless Africa”, Mbaika stated.
According to her, Kenya’s government is committed to sustaining the high bar raised by Kigali, Rwanda and advancing the theme discussed with renewed passion and dedication.
Advising stakeholders on how to improve aviation in Africa, the Principal Secretary said “the emphasis on safety and risk management will continue to be Africa’s aviation safety standard. We must promptly, as Africa take our case in the fast growing aviation sector, leverage Public, Private Partnership (PPP) and innovative finance solutions, which are pivotal to transforming our aspirations into reality”.
Mbaika noted that aviation contributes largely to tourism and agriculture, adding that Africa must remain inspired by the recognition that exists between them in the continent through strategic collaboration.
“Let us make African aviation aspirations a reality”, Mbaika added.
The 10th edition of Aviation Africa Summit and Exhibition scheduled to hold next year in Nairobi, Kenya is expected to bring together aviation professionals, government representatives, and industry leaders from across Africa and beyond.
The summit focuses on the critical need for African nations to open up the continent’s skies and invest in the development of a more dynamic and sustainable aviation sector.
