The Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has met with the Head of Sub-Sahara Africa, Corporate Bank – Trade Financial Institutions, Mr. Andreas Voss, at Deutsche Bank, to explore investment opportunities in Nigeria’s aviation sector.

Voss commended the Minister’s track record and transformative policies in the aviation industry, expressing Deutsche Bank’s readiness to partner the federal government in advancing critical infrastructure projects.

Deutsche Bank, with over 40 years of presence in Nigeria, reaffirmed its interest in supporting the country through export credit arrangements, sustainable funding models, and innovative financing mechanisms. The Minister welcomed Deutsche Bank’s overtures, stating that Nigeria is open for business, especially in aircraft financing, and highlighted the country’s compelling investment case.

He emphasised that Nigeria’s increasing traffic, central geographical location, and stable position in global aviation make it an attractive investment destination. A working group was constituted to engage with Deutsche Bank’s team on potential investment areas, including airport modernisation, aviation safety upgrades, green airport initiatives, and development of a National Aviation Training Academy.

Both parties agreed to deepen engagements to establish long-term partnerships aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, prioritising infrastructure growth, foreign direct investment, and enhanced service delivery in Nigeria’s aviation sector. This meeting marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s drive to attract credible international financiers and boost investor confidence in the future of Nigerian aviation.
