
Dr. Allen Onyema, Chairman and CEO of Air Peace Limited, has been named “Aviation Executive of the Year” at the inaugural Nigeria International Air Show, held at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja from December 2 to 4, 2025.
The award, presented by Dr. Yakubu Adam Kofamata, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, recognised Onyema’s transformative leadership and vision in revolutionising West African aviation.
Under Onyema’s guidance, Air Peace has experienced rapid growth, evolving from a small startup to the largest privately-owned carrier in West and Central Africa. His vision for the airline extends beyond business, aiming to drive economic empowerment, create thousands of jobs, and connect underserved cities through robust domestic and regional networks.
Onyema’s bold international ambitions have also yielded significant results, with Air Peace becoming the first Nigerian airline in decades to re-establish direct connectivity to London, including the landmark Abuja-London Heathrow route. This achievement demonstrates his commitment to restoring Nigerian aviation’s global presence and competitiveness.
