The Oyo/Osun Chapter of the Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA) has reinforced its commitment to humanitarian service with a series of outreach visits to vulnerable groups, including children and widows.

Led by its Chairperson, Omowunmi Adewole, the association visited the Ibadan Motherless Babies Home and the House of Providence Special School, where members showed support and compassion to children in need, particularly those with special needs.

Speaking during the visits, Adewole expressed gratitude to the National President of COWA, Adeniyi Kikelomo, for her leadership and continued support, which she said has been instrumental in driving the association’s humanitarian initiatives.

She noted that the outreach was aimed at promoting love, care, and inclusion for children in motherless homes and those living with intellectual disabilities, stressing that every child deserves the opportunity to grow and feel valued in society.

The Chairperson added that COWA remains guided by principles of discipline, respect, and selfless service – values that align with the ideals of the Nigeria Customs Service.

During the visits, gift items were presented to the children to support their welfare, while caregivers and management of the institutions were commended for their dedication and impactful service.

In addition to supporting children, the association extended its outreach to widows of Customs officers, providing them with essential items as part of its welfare programme. Adewole reaffirmed the group’s commitment to ensuring that families of officers are not neglected.

She concluded by reiterating COWA’s resolve to continue making meaningful contributions to society, noting that small acts of kindness can inspire lasting hope and positive change.

The outreach featured goodwill messages, interactive sessions with beneficiaries, and a renewed pledge by the association to sustain its humanitarian efforts.
