The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has  successfully concluded its 2025 Public Relations Officers Workshop in Kano, with a call to officers to uphold professionalism, resilience, and innovation in promoting the Service’s image and building trust with stakeholders. 

The workshop, which brought together PR officers, communication experts, and resource persons, focused on strengthening communication strategies, improving transparency, and aligning PR functions with the Service’s modernisation drive.

The National PRO of Customs, Assistant Comptroller Abdullahi Maiwada, expressed gratitude to attendees and facilitators, highlighting the collective dedication that made the workshop a success. 

The Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, represented by Comptroller Abubakar Dalhatu, commended participants for their commitment and noted that the workshop had contributed to a positive shift in the perception of the Nigeria Customs Service.

The CGC emphasised the importance of consistency in communication, urging PR officers to continue promoting the narrative of upright officers with integrity within the Service. The workshop concluded with a cultural tour of Kano State, where participants explored the city’s heritage, culture, and hospitality, underscoring the Service’s commitment to professional growth and cultural appreciation.

The event also featured a dinner night in honour of officers and stakeholders, where outstanding PR officers were recognised for their performance. 

The workshop’s success reflects the Service’s dedication to building a strong and positive image, and its commitment to working with stakeholders to achieve its goals.
