The President General of Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Bunu Abi, has congratulated Christians in Nigeria and across the globe on the occasion of Easter.
Easter signifies the death of our Lord Jesus Christ, who on the third day after his crucifixion on the Cross of Calvary resurrected from the grave.
The celebration of our Lord Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday is a significant testimony and genuine reflection of the Messiah, who came to earth for the redemption of mankind from the shackles of sin.
Christ during his life time on earth went all about the places preaching the gospel of repentance, love, forgiveness, charity, peace, and was always seen doing good, healing the sick and loosing the oppressed.
Bunu on this memorial occasion admonished Christians in the country to emulate the exemplary life style of Jesus by coexisting with one another in peace irrespective of tribe, descent, religion, status, or political divide, as all mankind are made in the image of the Almighty God as embedded in the Holy Bible, which is the watchword of our daily lives.
The MWUN President General who is a devoted Christian did not mince word while encouraging Christian faithfuls across the globe to continually be the true Ambassadors of Christ in whatever they do especially by demonstrating the Agape kind of love towards all races of humanity as this period of Easter is the time to reassess our daily lives and reflect on the teachings and characteristics of our Lord Jesus Christ, “so that we don’t fall short of the standards of the Kingdom of God, which is our ultimate goal as Christians”.
He used the Easter celebration to thank Christians for their peace loving nature and urged them to continue to be more resilient, and not relent in doing good, as such people will inherit the Kingdom of God.
The Delta State born Maritime Expert, Business Administrator and seasoned Sailor extended his warmest greetings to all Nigerians during this Easter; thanked everyone and charged them to exchange love, eschew strife, bitterness, and hatred towards one another as such will keep the society devoid of rancour guarantee peace as we coexist amongst ourselves in love just as Christ stood for humanity as the symbol of peace and redemption.
