The newly appointed Director of the Directorate of Special Duties at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Dr. Augustina Erah, has pledged to strengthen strategic coordination and enhance the effective implementation of the Authority’s mandate as she formally assumed office.
Erah, who resumed following a minor redeployment approved by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, assured management and staff that the Directorate would play a more proactive role in supporting the NCAA’s regulatory and oversight functions.
Expressing appreciation for the confidence reposed in her, she said the Directorate of Special Duties would focus on delivering measurable results through improved collaboration, innovation and strict alignment with the Authority’s strategic objectives.
“With the support of management and staff, we will work diligently to consolidate on existing structures and drive greater milestones for the Authority”, she stated.
Erah succeeds Mr. Horatius Egua, the pioneer Director of the directorate, who handed over after briefing her on the structure and operations of the unit. In his remarks, Egua noted that the Directorate comprises five specialised units responsible for advancing the strategic goals of the NCAA and ensuring effective execution of its responsibilities.
The Director General of Civil Aviation, Captain Chris Najomo, commended Mr. Egua for laying a solid foundation for the directorate and expressed confidence in Erah’s capacity to provide purposeful leadership. He assured her of management’s support and called on other directors to cooperate fully with her to advance the Authority’s mandate.
Directors and staff of the Authority welcomed Erah’s appointment and pledged their commitment to supporting her in achieving the Directorate’s objectives.
