The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intensified efforts to strengthen excise compliance and revenue generation with a high-level stakeholders’ engagement at the Oyo/Osun Area Command.

The meeting, held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Command’s Operational Headquarters, brought together excise traders and key industry players, led by the Assistant Comptroller General in charge of Excise, Free Trade Zone and Industrial Incentives, ACG Eghosa Edelduok, and her delegation.

Addressing participants, Edelduok highlighted the vital role of excise factories in driving revenue for the Service, commending stakeholders for their adherence to regulations. She urged them to sustain their cooperation to enable the Command and the NCS not only meet but exceed revenue targets.

She also lauded the Oyo/Osun Area Command for its strong performance, noting that it contributes nearly one-third of the Service’s total excise revenue. The ACG charged officers overseeing excise factories to remain diligent and committed to achieving set targets for the year.

In his remarks, the Acting Customs Area Controller of the Command, Deputy Comptroller Wale Adewole, expressed appreciation to the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, for establishing the stakeholder engagement initiative. He described it as a strategic platform for fostering compliance, deepening collaboration, and addressing operational challenges faced by businesses.

The engagement featured an interactive session where stakeholders raised concerns, sought clarifications on key regulatory issues, and highlighted operational constraints.

The Customs Service assured participants of continued support and collaboration to enhance efficiency and compliance across the sector.
