Participants at the March fellowship of Journalists for Christ (JFC) delivered inspiring testimonies of faith, divine intervention, provision, and perseverance, underscoring God’s impact on their professional and personal lives.
The gathering, held at the hall of Journalists Against AIDS, Nigeria in Lagos, brought together media practitioners and Christian faithful from various organisations. It provided a platform for attendees to share experiences they described as clear evidence of God’s guidance.
The fellowship, themed “Give to Gain: Give Support, Gain Impacts – Bible Takeaways for Media Leaders/Organisations”, featured a series of testimonies that resonated deeply with participants.
Leading the session, Assistant Editor-in-Chief at the News Agency of Nigeria, Yinka Fadare, recounted how she overcame a prolonged academic hurdle that nearly derailed her studies.
She explained that after struggling for months with a term paper, clarity came shortly after she presented the challenge during a JFC prayer meeting. A subsequent meeting with a lecturer, she said, provided the breakthrough she needed within hours.
Also sharing her experience, educator and school proprietor Amina Hassan narrated how what she described as a divine premonition helped avert a potential fire outbreak. Acting on a strong inner prompting, she switched off a gas cylinder, a decision she believes prevented a disaster after smoke was later discovered in the building.
In another testimony, Mrs. Ihejirika expressed gratitude over her daughter’s successful admission into the Nigerian Law School despite widespread uncertainty affecting graduates of Abia State University. She noted that beyond gaining admission, her daughter was also posted to Lagos—an outcome the family had specifically prayed for.
Publisher of Church Times Nigeria, Gbenga Osinaike, thanked God for sustained health and provision, highlighting his nearly two-decade journey of working without a formal salary while still meeting life’s demands. He also spoke of handling increasing professional responsibilities with divine help.
JFC President, Lekan Otufodunrin, shared how an unexpected funding opportunity materialised for a project after he reached out to a potential donor. Though outside the organisation’s usual funding scope, the proposal received approval, which he attributed to favour.
Similarly, Mr. Chika Abanobi testified about divine provision in meeting a pressing financial obligation. He recounted how an unexpected engagement led to a financial gift that matched his house rent exactly.
Chaplain of JFC, Pastor David Alabi, reflected on his 40-year journey of faith, expressing gratitude for God’s sustaining grace despite the challenges and losses encountered along the way.
Rounding off the session, publisher of New Dawn, Tunde Abatan, offered words of encouragement rooted in personal experience. Reflecting on the loss of his wife 13 months ago, he spoke about resilience, faith, and trusting God through life’s most difficult moments.
The testimony session ended on a note of gratitude and renewed faith, with participants drawing strength and encouragement from the shared experiences.
