
Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Olubunmi Kuku, has been elected Vice President of Airports Council International (ACI) Africa, elevating her to a permanent member of the ACI World Governing Board.
This milestone achievement was ratified during the 34th ACI Africa General Assembly in Lusaka, Zambia, and marks a significant moment for Nigeria and the African aviation sector.
As Vice President of ACI Africa, Kuku will champion initiatives promoting safe, passenger-centric airports and enhancing connectivity across the continent. With ACI Africa representing 56 member states and the ACI World Governing Board overseeing approximately 2,100 airports globally, Kuku’s role will be pivotal in shaping the future of African aviation.
“I am committed to collaborating with my colleagues to ensure our airports meet international standards for safety and efficiency while driving economic growth and connectivity”, she said, expressing her dedication to her new role.
Under Kuku’s leadership, Nigerian airports have undergone significant transformations, with notable improvements in infrastructure and service quality. Her expertise in aviation and finance positions her well to address pressing issues such as infrastructure development, safety regulations, and sustainable aviation practices.
As a permanent member of the ACI World Governing Board, Kuku will advocate for the unique challenges and opportunities facing African airports, fostering innovation and excellence.
