A major traders and market body in Lagos State, the Ndị IgboAmaka Progressive Markets Association, has officially adopted United Nigeria Airlines as its preferred airline partner, sealing the alliance with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The agreement, signed in Lagos by the association’s President, Chinedu Ukatu, and the airline’s Managing Director, Mazi Osita Okonkwo, introduced a suite of travel benefits for members, their families, customers, and business associates. These include discounted fares, lounge access, and priority services across the airline’s domestic network.

To launch the partnership, United Nigeria Airlines announced a special introductory offer of 50 tickets at a discounted fare of ₦80,000 exclusively for association members.

Okonkwo said the initiative underscores the airline’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s vibrant trading community. “This partnership is designed to make travel more accessible, efficient, and rewarding for traders and their customers”, he stated.

Ukatu described the agreement as a significant milestone, highlighting the airline’s longstanding relationship with the association, as well as the role of its Chairman and Founder, Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, who serves as the association’s Grand Patron.

He noted that the collaboration is expected to enhance travel convenience for traders within Lagos’ expansive commercial network, which connects over 10 million traders nationwide.

According to him, the airline’s strong safety record, reliable service, and “Flying to Unite” philosophy were key factors in its selection.
