The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO) has deployed another batch of multi-million-dollar ground support equipment (GSE) to enhance its operations nationwide.

This latest deployment is part of the company’s ambitious plan to modernise its fleet with state-of-the-art equipment by 2026.

Chairman of NAHCO’s Board of Directors, Dr. Seinde Oladapo Fadeni, emphasised that the new equipment will not only benefit the company and its customers but also make life easier for workers. “We have a lot in our cap, and we’re bringing them out one by one”, he said. The company has been working on acquiring new equipment since last year, despite facing delivery delays.

NAHCO’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Didier Stuellet, commended the Chairman and Board for investing heavily in equipment, describing it as a “huge investment” worth millions of dollars. This investment demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing superior service to its client airlines and enhancing operational safety and efficiency.

The deployed equipment includes nine brand-new high loaders, a significant acquisition in the history of Nigerian aviation. According to the Head of GSE, Mr. Charles Karinga, this is a rare feat, as few ground handling service providers in the region can acquire such equipment simultaneously due to their high cost. The new equipment will undoubtedly improve NAHCO’s operational efficiency and service excellence.

NAHCO’s Ground Support Equipment Replacement Plan aims to modernise the company’s fleet over the next two years, enhancing service quality and operational efficiency for all airline customers.

The plan consists of three phases, with the current batch of equipment being part of Phase 1. Additional batches are expected in the coming months, with orders for Phase 2 set to commence shortly.
