
To drive maritime growth and development, the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has undertaken a strategic restructuring of its management team, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery in line with its core mandate.
This move is part of the agency’s efforts to strengthen inter-departmental collaboration, inject fresh energy, and improve overall performance across the maritime sector.
The restructuring, announced by NIMASA’s Director General, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, involved the appointment of new directors to key positions. Some of the notable appointments include:
– Hajia Moji Jimoh as Director, Administration and Human Resources
– Aishatu Jidda as Director, Planning, Research, and Data Management Services
– Barr. Heaky Dimowo as Director, Legal Services/Board Secretary
– Isichei Osamgbi as Director, SERVICOM
– Mrs. Olubusola Obasanjo-Akande as Director, Western Zone
– Engr. Christopher Amakulo as Director, Special Duties
– Ms. Gloria Anyasodo as Director, Cabotage Services
– Salihu Abdullahi Yelwa as Director, Shipping Development
– Mrs. Nneka Obianyor as Director, Reforms Coordination and Blue Economy
– Umar Ibrahim Sidi as Director, Maritime Labour Services
– Dr. Oma Ofodile as Director, Marine Environment Management
– Mr. Buba Umar as Director, Abuja Zonal Office
– Ahmed Shittien as Special Adviser Technical to the Director General
Mobereola charged the newly appointed directors to bring their wealth of experience to bear and work collectively towards achieving the agency’s strategic objectives. He emphasised that the restructuring is a deliberate effort to reposition the agency for optimal performance, foster synergy among departments, and drive sustainable maritime development in Nigeria.
The restructuring exercise affected a total of 56 management staff, underscoring the agency’s commitment to creating a more efficient and effective organisational structure.
With this move, NIMASA is poised to take its operations to the next level, leveraging the expertise and experience of its new management team to drive growth and development in the maritime sector.
