“Top Maritime Leaders Set for Launch of MARAN’s New Book, 50 Drivers of Nigeria’s Marine and Blue Economy”
The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has been announced as the Special Guest of Honour for the official unveiling of the Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria’s (MARAN) latest publication, “50 Drivers of Nigeria’s Marine and Blue Economy”.
The high-profile launch is scheduled for Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Providence Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos, starting at 12 noon.
According to MARAN President, Mr. Godfrey Bivbere, the event will be chaired by former Minister of Interior and Chairman of Integrated Oil and Gas, Capt. Emmanuel Iheanacho, whose leadership further underscores the significance of the publication to Nigeria’s maritime advancement.
Bivbere said the presence of such eminent figures reflects the strategic importance of the book to the country’s evolving marine and blue economy, especially as Nigeria intensifies efforts to reposition the sector for sustainable growth.
He described the book as a “comprehensive compendium” profiling the individuals, agencies, and organisations shaping the transformation of Nigeria’s maritime landscape.
“This indispensable volume educates industry professionals on the profound history and emerging opportunities within the sector, spotlighting the people and institutions whose contributions continue to drive national development”, said Bivbere.
The publication, he added, is the culmination of months of extensive research and editorial work, capturing the achievements, innovations, and influence of the 50 most impactful drivers in the marine and blue economy ecosystem.
The December 4 launch is expected to attract top government officials, regulators, shipowners, freight forwarders, terminal operators, academics, and investors—making it one of the most anticipated industry gatherings in recent years.
Bivbere assured that preparations are in full swing to deliver a befitting event that celebrates excellence, professionalism, and the continued advancement of Nigeria’s maritime sector.
