
Platforms Communications, a leading maritime media company, has officially launched a 12-member Central Planning Committee (CPC) for the 10th anniversary of the Annual Maritime Students and Youth Conference (AMSAY).
This year’s conference marks a decade since the initiative was first launched on May 27, 2016.
According to the CEO of Platforms Communications and Convener of the Conference, Mr. Sylva Obasi, the 10th anniversary celebration will be led by Mr. Nnamdi Eronini as Chairman, with Mr. Mohammed Ahmed as Co-Chairman, Wilfred Umahi as Secretary, and Chief Basil Opara as Advisor. Other committee members include Mr. Sunday Bankole, Mr. David Oladimeji, Mrs. Asella Offorka, Mr. Isaac Utibe, Comr.Temitope Omotayo, Emmanuel Adegbaju, Amb Winnie Ogunsakin, and Mrs. Pearl Ngwama.
The committee’s responsibilities include overseeing the planning and execution of the conference, which will be divided into sub-committees to ensure efficiency. These sub-committees include Technical, Business & Marketing, School Engagement, Publicity & Operations, and Welfare.
Obasi emphasised that the 10th AMSAY Conference will be a celebration of leadership, innovation, and impact, the core values that the brand has embodied over the past decade. He urged government agencies, corporate companies, and individuals to support the programme through sponsorship, partnership, or other means to ensure its sustainability.
The committee has four months to plan and execute a successful event, scheduled for May 27, 2026.
