As part of its preparations for the launch of new routes from Abuja to Accra and Lagos to Accra on November 10, 2025, United Nigeria Airlines has hosted its maiden Strategic Agency Forum to deepen collaboration with key travel partners and ticketing agents.

Held on Tuesday at the Protea Hotel, Lagos, the event brought together prominent travel agents from across Nigeria, including members of NANTA, as well as representatives from Sabre, Wakanow, American Express Travels, Orih Travels, and other leading industry players. The forum marked a significant step in the airline’s expansion efforts, following the recent addition of two Airbus A320-200 aircraft and a CRJ-900 to its fleet. United Nigeria Airlines now serves 14 destinations nationwide, with Accra set to become its newest international destination.

In her presentation, the Head of Business Development and Strategy, Mr. Ifeoma Ekwerike, highlighted the strategic value of the Accra route within the airline’s regional growth plan. She noted that the Nigeria–Ghana corridor serves more than 240,000 passengers annually, making it one of West Africa’s busiest air routes.

“United Nigeria Airlines is entering the Accra market with reliable schedules, on-time departures, competitive fares, modern aircraft, and attractive incentives for our agents”, Ekwerike said. “Starting November 10, we will operate daily direct non-stop flights from Abuja to Accra and four weekly flights from Lagos to Accra”.

Speaking at the event, Chief Operating Officer, Mazi Osita Okonkwo, expressed gratitude to travel agents for their partnership and reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to mutual growth. He also announced the ongoing acquisition of six Boeing 737-800 aircraft to further expand capacity and enhance service quality.

“Our agents are our ambassadors before the passengers and vital partners in our success story”, Okonkwo stated. “The future is bright for United Nigeria Airlines”. He urged agents to seize the growing opportunities in Nigeria’s travel and tourism sector.

The event concluded with a lucky dip draw led by Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Raphael Uchegbu, where several agents won return tickets to Accra on the airline’s inaugural flight.

United Nigeria Airlines continues to uphold its mission of “Flying to Unite” as it broadens its regional presence and strengthens collaboration with valued partners.
