The Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) has urged maritime stakeholders to raise the bar on performance and collaboration as the nation enters 2026, positioning the year as a decisive period for advancing the marine and blue economy.
In a New Year message to members and industry stakeholders, MARAN Chairman, Mr. Tunde Ayodele, described 2026 as a “year of greater impact”, emphasising the need for enhanced service delivery and more impactful maritime journalism in support of national development.
He noted that the combined efforts of stakeholders over the past year contributed meaningfully to the growth of the maritime sector and called for the sustenance of unity, professionalism, and cooperation in the year ahead.
“Together, we can make Nigeria proud by contributing our quota to national development, each from our own little corner”, Ayodele said.
Reaffirming MARAN’s commitment to partnership, the chairman said the association remains open to deeper collaboration with organisations and institutions across the maritime value chain, stressing that such alliances are essential to building a maritime sector that commands respect and admiration locally and internationally.
Ayodele also expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation extended to MARAN throughout 2025, urging stakeholders to renew that commitment in 2026.
“Thank you for your cooperation and support in 2025. Let us do it again in 2026″, he added.
He concluded by wishing members and stakeholders a prosperous New Year, welcoming them into what he described as a defining year of greater impact for Nigeria’s maritime industry and the nation at large.
