
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Hon. Musa Adar, has thanked President Bola Tinubu for appointing him and other members to the newly constituted Board.
In his inaugural speech, Adar described the appointment as a privilege and appreciated the President for considering them worthy of the roles.
He also extended his gratitude to the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, for recommending them for the positions. Adar commended the past Board and Management Teams of NIWA for their tireless efforts in achieving the Authority’s objectives, particularly in infrastructural development and staff welfare.
As the Chairman of the Board, Adar pledged to discharge his duties effectively and respect the judgment and advice of fellow members and Management. He expressed his commitment to working with stakeholders to create a better organisation that is professionally managed, flexible, and adaptable to the needs of Nigerians.
The Managing Director/CEO of NIWA, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, welcomed the new Board members and highlighted the Authority’s progress in recent times.
This includes increasing the number of goods and passengers on the inland waterways, enhancing safety, and collaborating with state governments. Oyebamiji looked forward to working with the Board to drive NIWA’s growth and success.
