
The Face of Maritime International (FOMI) has announced the nomination of Chief Mrs. Jean Chiazor-Anishere, SAN, as the 2025 Role Model Ambassador.
The organisation has also revealed the nominees for the prestigious Maritime Amazons and Maritime Doyens Awards, which will be presented at the FOMI 10th Anniversary Grand Finale.
The FOMI 2025 Grand Finale and 10th Anniversary will take place on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Villa Angelia Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos. The event will celebrate excellence, brilliance, and the contributions of outstanding maritime personalities.
The nominees for the Maritime Doyens Award categories include High Chief Azubuike Ekweozor, Mr. Bolaji Sunmola, Mr. Daniel Odibe, and several other distinguished maritime professionals.
The Maritime Amazons Award nominees include Barr. Mrs. Rita Uruakpa, Princess Chi Ezeh, Mrs. Koni Duniya, and other notable maritime women. The awards aim to identify, celebrate, and honour inspiring maritime women and men who have risen to prominence after shattering the proverbial glass ceiling in their maritime careers or fields of maritime endeavors.
The Director of FOMI, Mr. Sylva Obasi, stated that the nomination of Chiazor-Anishere is symbolic, coming at FOMI’s 10th Anniversary. Obasi described her nomination as a testament to her dedication to the maritime industry and her support for FOMI’s initiatives, including the Girls Go-To-Sea Campaign.
The Chairperson of the Central Planning Committee, Hajia Bola Muse, expressed the readiness of the organisers to host a memorable occasion. The event will feature a keynote lecture, pageantry displays, comedy and dance shows, and the unveiling of the Girls Go-To-Sea Trust Fund.
The theme of the event is “FOMI – A Decade of Vision, Creativity, Resilience, and Impacts”.
