Welcoming the delegation, NIMASA Director General, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, commended Denmark for its consistent partnership and contributions to Nigeria’s maritime advancement.

“On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy and the Nigerian Government, I extend our sincere appreciation to the Danish Government for its longstanding support. Danish companies have made significant contributions across various maritime sectors, and we are confident this partnership will continue to grow”, Mobereola said.

Over the years, cooperation between both countries has focused on training, professional development, maritime security, and efforts to enhance Nigeria’s digital maritime infrastructure. Danish firms, including APM Terminals, have made notable investments in port facilities across Lagos, Onne, and Kano.

Denmark is also supporting initiatives like the Ship-in-a-Box (SIAB) simulator project, developed in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), aimed at strengthening the skills of Nigerian maritime law enforcement officers in Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (VBSS) operations.
