
The Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) Nigeria has congratulated the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) on the successful commissioning and official launch of the Cabotage Vessel Financing Fund (CVFF) Application Portal, describing it as a Game-Changer for Indigenous Shipping Finance.
Speaking on behalf of women maritime associations in Nigeria, the President of WISTA Nigeria, Dr. Odunayo Ani, lauded the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency Adegboyega Oyetola, and the Director General of NIMASA, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, for delivering a long-awaited, forward-looking digital platform for ship financing.
“This milestone represents a significant advancement for the maritime sector. The CVFF Application Portal enhances transparency, improves accessibility, and strengthens stakeholder confidence. It demonstrates purposeful leadership and a shared commitment to efficiency, inclusiveness, and sustainable growth across the marine and blue economy”, Ani said.
She commended the Minister and the NIMASA leadership for their strategic vision and dedication to implementing practical solutions to address longstanding challenges within the industry.
“The commissioning of this portal reflects deliberate efforts to modernise processes, deepen stakeholder engagement, and unlock fresh opportunities for operators and investors in indigenous shipping”, she added.
Ani further reaffirmed WISTA Nigeria’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote equity, professionalism, and innovation within the maritime ecosystem.
“As women in maritime, we remain fully supportive of reforms that strengthen participation and competitiveness. We look forward to continued collaboration with the Ministry, NIMASA, and industry stakeholders to build a more resilient, inclusive, and globally competitive maritime sector”, she stated.
