
President Bola Tinubu has conferred the prestigious Excellence in Aviation Sector Reforms Award on the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, in recognition of his outstanding leadership, transformative reforms and unwavering commitment to repositioning Nigeria’s aviation sector for global competitiveness.
The award was presented at the Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service (NEAPS) ceremony held on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja. NEAPS, an initiative of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), celebrates outstanding performance and impactful stewardship across Nigeria’s public service.
Presenting the plaque on behalf of President Tinubu, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, commended Keyamo for championing reforms that have strengthened aviation safety, improved consumer protection, upgraded infrastructure, stimulated industry growth and restored investor confidence in Nigeria’s aviation ecosystem.

Akume noted that the aviation minister’s interventions have helped reposition the sector as a strategic driver of national development and international connectivity.
The ceremony also recognised other senior public officials for excellence in service delivery. Among the awardees were Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation, for Excellence in Public Communication and Transparency; Ola Olukoyede, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), for Excellence in Integrity and Anti-Corruption Leadership; Brig. Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (Rtd.), Chairman of the NDLEA, for Excellence in Drug Control Leadership and Public Safety Reform; and Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, for Excellence in Revenue and Customs Administration, among others.

The recognitions reflect President Tinubu’s commitment to promoting accountability, transparency and high performance across Nigeria’s public institutions.
The 2025 NEAPS ceremony attracted top government officials, captains of industry, members of the diplomatic corps and key stakeholders from across the public service landscape.
