Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work by Julius Berger Nigeria Plc on the ongoing Port Harcourt Ring Road and Creek Bridge project, describing the construction firm as a strong partner in his administration’s development drive.
Fubara gave the commendation on Monday during an unscheduled inspection visit to the project corridor, including the critical Creek Bridge section.
Speaking after the tour, and to the applause of residents and community members at several stopovers, the Governor said visible progress on the project reflects Julius Berger’s commitment to delivering impact infrastructure in the State.

“I am satisfied with what Julius Berger is doing on this project. You can see and feel the speed and positive changes coming up. Thank you, Julius Berger, for this and others you are doing across the state. The people truly appreciate your work”, Fubara said.
He noted that construction on the five flyovers along the Ring Road is nearing completion, while work on the Creek Bridge, which he described as critical to the movement of people and goods between riverine communities, has commenced and will be delivered with the same speed and quality associated with the contractor.
According to the Governor, the bridge will end the risky daily crossings by canoe and boat currently endured by residents.
“The days of taking risks to cross the river in canoes and boats will soon be over”, he said, urging host communities to continue cooperating with Julius Berger to ensure seamless delivery of the project.
Fubara confirmed that the 50.15-kilometre Port Harcourt Ring Road is on schedule for completion by October 2026, stressing that sustained funding is being provided to meet the deadline.

The project, which cuts across five local government areas, is designed to decongest traffic and significantly upgrade Port Harcourt’s urban infrastructure.
Initiated in 2023, the Ring Road is regarded as one of the priority infrastructure projects of the Fubara administration, aimed at boosting mobility, trade and economic activities within the State.
