Co-organisers of NAHF: Gboyega Adeoye (L) & Wole Shadare (R)

The Nigeria Aviation Hall of Fame (NAHF) has announced plans for its 2026 Induction Ceremony, scheduled to take place in May 2026, where distinguished aviation professionals will be formally inducted into the prestigious Hall of Fame.

The event, which marks the second edition of the NAHF, will celebrate eminent aviators whose dedication, achievements, and service have significantly contributed to the development of Nigeria’s aviation sector.

According to the organisers, the ceremony will recognise a new class of visionaries whose work and leadership have helped shape the Nigerian and African aerospace landscape. The event forms the highlight of the Aviation Hall of Fame Forum, bringing together policymakers, airline executives, regulators, and global aviation stakeholders to celebrate excellence in the industry.

The organisers noted that the 2026 edition will honour individuals who have demonstrated resilience, innovation, and a strong commitment to safety during a period of remarkable growth in Nigeria’s aviation sector. The full list of inductees will be unveiled gradually in the coming weeks.

Co-organiser, Wole Shadare, said the initiative is aimed at preserving the legacy of individuals who have made significant sacrifices for the growth of aviation in the country.

“We are proud to celebrate these industry leaders and enshrine them in the Nigeria Aviation Hall of Fame. Their contributions have shaped the course of Nigerian aviation, and we aim to honour their legacy for posterity”, he said.

“Induction into the Nigerian Aviation Hall of Fame is the highest honour our domestic industry can bestow on individuals who sacrificed their lives, time and resources for the development the country’s aviation has witnessed in the last 60 years”.

Another co-organiser, Gboyega Adeoye, said the event is designed to showcase the very best of Nigeria’s aviation achievements.

“The Nigeria Aviation Hall of Fame is a platform to showcase the best of Nigerian aviation. We are honoured to collaborate with the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria to make this event a success”, Adeoye stated.

Nomination for the 2026 Hall of Fame is currently ongoing, with a panel of respected aviation professionals reviewing submissions and identifying nominees with outstanding records and lasting contributions to the industry.

During the maiden edition, several prominent figures were inducted, including Robert Hayes, Harold Demuren, Dele Ore, Bernard Olumuyiwa Aliu, Anastasia Gbem and the late Jerry Eyituoyo Agbeyegbe.

To further highlight the achievements of the inductees, portraits of the honourees will be displayed at major airports across Nigeria. A commemorative magazine chronicling their stories and milestones in Nigerian aviation will also be published as part of the celebration.

The 2026 NAHF ceremony is expected to attract leading aviation stakeholders, professionals, and dignitaries from across Nigeria and beyond.

The Nigeria Aviation Hall of Fame is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation established to recognise and reward excellence and patriotism among industry players while promoting dedication and professionalism within Nigeria’s aviation sector.
