The 2026 Insurance Week organised by the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) will kick off on Monday, May 18, 2026, marking its second edition since its debut in 2025.
Riding on the momentum of its inaugural outing, this year’s event is focused on strengthening insurance penetration while broadening public knowledge and acceptance of insurance nationwide.
The week-long programme will run concurrently across CIIN chapters in all geopolitical zones, underscoring the institute’s commitment to nationwide engagement.
Pre-event activities will begin with interfaith prayers, starting with Jumat prayers on Friday, May 15. This will be followed by an awareness walk from NEM Insurance House to the National Stadium, while Christian prayers are scheduled for Sunday, May 17.
Main activities will run from Tuesday, May 19 to Friday, May 22, featuring targeted outreach to schools, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and market communities. A hackathon is also planned to stimulate innovation within the insurance ecosystem.
The event will conclude with a gala and awards night, alongside an ambassadorial recognition ceremony honouring individuals and organisations contributing to the advancement of insurance awareness and growth in Nigeria.
