Air Peace has secured a major breakthrough in its global expansion drive after receiving approval from Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to operate scheduled international flights to and from the South American country.

The authorisation, conveyed through ANAC Ordinance No. 19.449/2026, permits Air Peace to run regular passenger, cargo, and mail services between Brazil and destinations across its network, paving the way for direct Nigeria-Brazil air connectivity by a Nigerian carrier.

The development marks a significant milestone in the airline’s ambition to become a truly global aviation brand. A direct route between Nigeria and Brazil is expected to cut travel time from nearly two days often involving multiple stopovers to approximately seven hours, unlocking new opportunities for tourism, trade, and cultural exchange.

Air Peace is simultaneously advancing plans to expand into other major international markets. The airline has applied for landing rights in Canada and the United States for scheduled flights to Toronto and New York, while also nearing the resumption of operations to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia and Guangzhou in China.

In Europe, the carrier is finalising arrangements to commence three weekly flights to Manchester in the United Kingdom, further strengthening its long-haul network.

The airline’s growing footprint already spans key global destinations, including London in the United Kingdom and Barbados in the Caribbean, alongside a strong presence across West Africa with routes to Accra, Freetown, Dakar, Banjul, Monrovia, and Abidjan.

As part of its regional expansion strategy, Air Peace recently announced new services to Libreville (Gabon), Conakry (Guinea), Bamako (Mali), and Douala (Cameroon), scheduled to begin on August 1.

Beyond passenger travel, the Brazil approval is expected to significantly enhance cargo operations and deepen economic ties between Nigeria and South America. With longstanding historical and commercial links between both countries, direct air connectivity has long been viewed as a critical missing link.

With Brazil now added to its expanding route map and several high-profile destinations in the pipeline, Air Peace continues to position itself as Nigeria’s leading international airline and a rising force in global aviation.
