Ahead of its plan to launch new flights to Bamako, Conakry, Douala and Libreville, Air Peace, and its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Allen Onyema, have emerged among the biggest winners at the 9th National Tourism Transportation Summit & Expo (NTTSE) 2026, clinching two prestigious awards.
The awards in recognition of their contributions to aviation development, regional connectivity and African integration were presented during the summit’s Gala Night at the Banquet Hall of the NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja, coming just days before the airline’s planned launch of new regional services linking Lagos with Bamako, Conakry, Douala and Libreville.
Air Peace received the Nigeria’s Largest Airline & Regional Expansion Leadership Award, while Onyema was honoured with the Aviation Leadership & Continental Connectivity Award for his outstanding role in advancing intra-African air connectivity and promoting stronger trade and economic integration across the continent.
The awards highlighted Air Peace’s growing influence in closing connectivity gaps within Africa through an expanding route network that continues to boost tourism, commerce and the free movement of people across the region.
Reacting to the recognition, Air Peace Spokesperson, Efeoghene Osifo-Whiskey, expressed appreciation to the organisers, describing the awards as strong endorsement of the airline’s commitment to transforming Africa’s aviation landscape through strategic route expansion and enhanced regional connectivity.

Also speaking, the Chairman’s Special Assistant on Communications, Ms. Hawa Alege, said the honour reflected Onyema’s enduring vision of leveraging aviation as a tool for African unity, economic growth and deeper regional integration.
She noted that the recognition comes at a defining moment in Air Peace’s expansion journey as the airline prepares to inaugurate additional regional destinations, further strengthening its position as a leading driver of connectivity across West and Central Africa.
Since its inception, Air Peace has evolved from a domestic airline into one of Africa’s leading carriers with an expanding international network.
Under Onyema’s leadership, the airline has continued to open new routes, create economic opportunities and improve access to safe, affordable air travel while advancing the vision of a more connected African continent.
