Air Peace Chairman, Dr. Allen Onyema, has expressed his gratitude to Fidelity Bank and its former leadership for their instrumental support in the airline’s early days.

Speaking at the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce Members’ Evening and Induction Ceremony, Onyema recounted how the bank’s bold decision to approve critical financing enabled Air Peace to acquire its first aircraft.

“Without the boldness of Fidelity Bank at a time when no Nigerian bank wanted to touch aviation, there might not have been an Air Peace today”, Onyema declared. He emphasised the importance of strategic financial partnerships in developing Nigeria’s aviation ecosystem, noting that aviation is one of the most capital-intensive industries globally.

Onyema’s acknowledgment highlights the crucial role Fidelity Bank played in Air Peace’s growth, which has transformed the airline into West and Central Africa’s largest carrier.

With its expansion plans underway, including the launch of the Abuja–London route and the construction of a world-class MRO facility in Lagos, Air Peace continues to solidify its position in the aviation industry.
