The Akwaaba African Travel Market (AfTM) has made a significant mark at the Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE), becoming one of the few West African exhibitors at the prominent event.

This participation marks Akwaaba’s first exhibition outside West Africa in its 21-year history, showcasing its commitment to connecting Africa and promoting intra-African travel.

Deborah Olukayode, representing Akwaaba at MKTE 2025, expressed enthusiasm about the experience, stating that the event reinforced their vision to connect Africa and Africans. Chinazam Ikech-Uko, who worked at the stand, added that they were proud to represent Nigeria and West Africa, bringing a taste of Lagos vibes and energy to the event.

Akwaaba African Travel Market is renowned for its annual Africa Travel 100 Awards, Jollof Rice war, Medical Tourism Expo, African Youth Bantaba, African Tourism Conference, and Air Cargo CHINET Aviacargo conference.

The next edition of Akwaaba is scheduled for September 13 to 16, 2026, in Lagos, Nigeria.
