… B’Odogwu poised for greater success

The Apapa Port Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has collected ₦215 billion in revenue for the month of August 2025 using the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), also known as B’Odogwu.

This achievement is notable, considering the reported network hitches that could have potentially impacted revenue collection.

The Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the Command, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, attributed the success to the increased confidence and continuous improvement of the B’Odogwu system. He thanked stakeholders and officers for their support, noting that their resilience and patriotism have kept the system growing despite challenges.

Olomu reassured importers, exporters, licensed customs agents, and freight forwarders that B’Odogwu is poised for greater success. He disclosed that the Comptroller-General of Customs has directed the ICT/Modernisation Department to ensure steady and sustained improvement in B’Odogwu service delivery by promptly addressing all hitches and providing necessary support for efficiency.

He expressed optimism that the UCMS will surpass user expectations and gain more confidence in the days to come. He described the revenue collection as a collective victory and a testament to the progress being made in building a dependable platform for trade in Nigeria.

According to Olomu: “Our collection of ₦215 billion using the B’Odogwu platform confirms progress in our ongoing journey to build a dependable platform for trade by Nigerians and for all those doing import, export, and excise business in Nigeria”.

He concluded that the Command will continue to strive for greater successes, braving all odds and pushing the limits of what is possible.
