DG/CEO NiMet, Prof. Charles Anosike

The Director General and CEO of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Prof. Charles Anosike, has been awarded the BusinessDay Public Service Excellence Award 2025. 

The award, presented on December 3, 2025, recognised Anosike’s outstanding contributions to public service, particularly in driving efficiency, climate resilience, and evidence-based reforms in Nigeria’s meteorological and climate services sector.

Under Anosike’s leadership, NiMet has become a model of modern public service delivery, with a strong focus on innovation, service quality, and institutional excellence. The Awards Committee commended him for his exceptional commitment and strategic vision, which have transformed the agency and advanced data-driven decision-making nationwide.

The BusinessDay Awards recognise public sector leaders who have made significant impacts in strengthening governance and improving institutional performance. Other notable awardees include, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris; and Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Amb. Yusuf Tuggar; among others.
