The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced a temporary adjustment to its Abuja–Kaduna Train Service (AKTS) schedule in view of the upcoming Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council Elections.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the Corporation and signed by its Chief Public Relations Officer, Callistus Unyimadu, the outbound train from Abuja to Kaduna on Saturday, February 21, 2026, will now depart at 7:30 a.m.

The return (inbound) service from Kaduna to Abuja will operate as scheduled, departing at 2:30 p.m.

Passengers are advised to arrive at the train station early, ahead of the anticipated restriction of movement associated with the elections.

Normal train operations will resume on Sunday.

The NRC expressed regret for any inconvenience the temporary adjustment may cause and appreciated passengers for their understanding.
