Two months into her new role as Director at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Mrs. Gloria Adaugo Anyasodo continues to distinguish herself as a transformative leader with a clear vision for operational excellence and stakeholder-driven maritime governance.
Serving as the Coordinator, Western Zone, Mrs. Anyasodo earned a reputation for her strategic insight, dedication, and consistent results. Her elevation to Director is a testament to her invaluable contributions to the agency’s regulatory and enforcement frameworks, particularly in aligning policy with the evolving needs of Nigeria’s maritime sector.
Her academic background is both rich and international. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in French/Education and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). In addition, she is a graduate of the World Maritime University (WMU), Malmö, Sweden, where she obtained a Master of Science in Maritime Affairs, specialising in Maritime Education and Training (MET). She is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administration (CIA).
Over the years, Anyasodo has contributed significantly to the development and implementation of strategic policy guidelines, both administrative and operational. These efforts have strengthened NIMASA’s regulatory frameworks and operational effectiveness, further aligning the agency with international maritime standards.
Her leadership has not gone unnoticed. In 2024, she received two notable accolades: “Maritime Amazon” and “Best Performing Enforcement Coordinator”—awards that reflect her tireless commitment to excellence, integrity, and innovation in public service.
