The House Committee on Aviation Technology has pledged its commitment to the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, Kaduna State, to address the challenges confronting the school.

The Chairman of the Committee, Honorable Tajudeen Abisodun, made this promise when he led the Committee on an oversight visit and facility tour of the College.

The Rector/Chief Executive, Dr. Danjuma Ismaila, and his entire management team warmly received the Committee members while the Rector seized the opportunity to appraise for the team the strategic position of the college in churning out a great percentage of the aviation industry workforce and professionals in the Country.

He appreciated the generous commitment shown by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, and other predecessor administrations in the success story of the institution. He appealed for a continued assistance of the committee in ensuring the improvement of budgetary allocations and funding for the college.

Ismaila however, bemoaned the poor wage profile of the college staff, attributing this as major reason for the prevalent attrition and poaching of the institution’s trained personnel by sister agencies in the industry sector with higher salary remunerations. The rector assured the committee of his administration’s plans to harness the immense potentials of the school to benefit both NCAT and the aviation industry maximally.

In response, the Committee Chairman applauded the contributions of the college in the fortunes of the Nigeria and global aviation industry. He assured of his committee’s commitment to supporting the college in addressing its major challenges.

While commending the Rector, he also assured that his committee will carefully study the detailed presentation made by the Rector; with a view to ascertaining priority areas of interventions. The entire members of the committee were greatly impressed with the facilities and infrastructure in the college, assuring of further regular interface with the Rector to meet necessary needs of the college
