The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has acknowledged recent remarks by ARISE Business Analyst, Mr. Chika Mbonu, who shared his firsthand experience on the Lagos–Ibadan Train Service during a live broadcast of ARISE Global Business News.

While analysing Nigeria’s ongoing inflation deceleration, Mbonu cited the Lagos–Ibadan rail service as seamless and efficient, commending its reliability from a commuter’s standpoint. His comments were made spontaneously in the course of broader economic analysis and were not connected to any sponsored or promotional engagement.

The analyst noted that dependable transportation infrastructure, particularly rail services, contributes meaningfully to economic stability by lowering logistical costs, improving time efficiency, and strengthening public confidence in government-led development initiatives.

The Lagos–Ibadan corridor remains one of Nigeria’s flagship standard-gauge rail lines, transporting thousands of passengers weekly and significantly enhancing mobility between Lagos, the nation’s commercial centre, and the wider South-West region.

The NRC observes that such independent, third-party commendations underscore growing public appreciation of rail infrastructure as a tangible dividend of democracy—delivering real value to citizens while supporting national economic objectives.

As the Corporation continues its drive to modernise and expand rail services across the country, it reaffirms its commitment to safe, efficient, and customer-focused operations in support of Nigeria’s long-term growth and development.
