It was a gathering of the titans in the maritime industry as the Managing Director of Integrated Oil and Gas Limited, Mr. Uche Lloyd Iheanacho, wedded his heartthrob Amy Akudo Iheakanwa, in a luxurious outing in Lagos, on Tuesday.
While the event was chaired by a former Chairman of Oil and Gas Free Zone Authority (OGFZA), Doctor Chris Asoluka, several maritime bigwigs as well as oil and gas giants graced the occasion in honour of the groom’s father, a former Minister of Interior and Chairman of Integrated Oil and Gas Limited, Captain Emmanuel Ihenacho.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ihenacho said the event is a thing of great joy as he saw his first son make a major development in life.
His words: “Im excited that Uche makes this beautiful decision to get married to an amazing lady and I see it as a sign of great responsibility.
“Obviously, it also shows that we are following the instructions in the Bible which admonishes that people should at some point in their lives leave their parents and embrace their wives.”
The veteran oil and gas operator, advised the newly wedded couple to prioritise tolerance, love and respect, stressing that these virtues will preserve peace and strengthen their union.
“Nobody is 100 per cent perfect. So, I’ll advise that they love each other and tolerate each other,” the groom’s father admonished.
Uche, who has been managing Integrated Oil in recent years, bumped into Akudo during his grandmother’s service of songs in Apapa in 2017.
Akudo, born in Sydney (Australia), returned to Nigeria in 2017 to pursue business opportunities, connect communities and create a new narrative for Nigerian design, but found love and a husband in Uche.
