
In a strong show of proactive leadership and commitment to institutional collaboration, the Acting Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) Command, Deputy Comptroller BL Adigun, on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, paid strategic courtesy visits to the Lagos Office of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Zonal Headquarters of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Zone A, Lagos.
The engagements formed part of the Acting CAC’s deliberate drive to deepen inter-agency partnerships, enhance operational efficiency, and reinforce professionalism within the Nigeria Customs Service and its key collaborating institutions.
While addressing officials of the ICPC, Deputy Comptroller Adigun expressed appreciation to the Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner, Lagos, Mr. Chukwura Alexander, and his management team. He underscored the critical role of strategic partnerships in combating corruption, noting that sustained collaboration with the Commission would strengthen internal control mechanisms, improve compliance, and boost public confidence in government institutions.

He described the partnership as fundamental to entrenching a culture of transparency and accountability across public service.
In his response, Alexander described the visit as timely, strategic, and impactful. He commended the KLT Command for its forward-looking leadership and commitment to inter-agency engagement. According to him, corruption thrives where institutions operate in silos, and he applauded the Acting CAC for bridging gaps between critical government agencies.
He assured that the ICPC would continue to work closely with the Nigeria Customs Service to promote transparency, strengthen compliance, and support integrity-driven initiatives. Also, he emphasised that sustained collaboration would deepen public trust and reinforce accountability across both agencies.

At the Zonal Headquarters of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Zone A, Lagos, Adigun lauded the Assistant Controller General, Zone A, Mr. Jude Agboje, and his officers for the warm reception. He stressed the importance of synergy among security and law enforcement agencies in addressing evolving security and operational challenges, highlighting the value of coordinated efforts, intelligence sharing, and joint initiatives in strengthening national security and operational effectiveness.
In his remarks, Agboje described the visit as highly significant, praising the Acting CAC for his vision and commitment to inter-agency cooperation. He noted that such partnerships enhance intelligence-led operations and promote efficiency across law enforcement institutions.

Agboje also commended the KLT Command for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project within the Correctional Service facility, describing the initiative as commendable and impactful. He pledged continued collaboration, affirming that both agencies would pursue joint initiatives, share expertise, and support each other’s strategic objectives for sustainable outcomes.
The engagements underscore the KLT Command’s leadership focus on professionalism, proactive collaboration, and national service, further positioning the Command as a catalyst for efficiency, security, and integrity within the Nigeria Customs Service.
