Le Look House of Bags celebrated a major milestone on Wednesday, October 1, marking 40 years of resilience, global impact and dedication to empowering entrepreneurs in Africa.

The event, themed “Legacy of Resilience: Empowering Entrepreneurs for Africa’s Economic Future”, was held at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos and featured award presentations, cultural performances, and the showcasing of Le Look’s unique, afro-centric luxury lifestyle branded bags.

Founded in 1985 by Chief Mrs. Chinwe Ezenwa, Le Look has grown from a small women-led business into a globally recognised manufacturer of high-quality bags, exporting to international markets. The company has stayed true to its mission of strengthening local manufacturing, creating jobs, and transferring skills to women and youth in enterprise.

The Le Look Academy, with locations in Abuja, Enugu, and Lagos, provides hands-on training in bag-making and digital skills, equipping learners with the necessary skills to succeed in the dynamic global landscape. The academy has partnered international and government institutions to promote trade and build capacities for the continent.

Le Look has partnered organisations like the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to empower artisans and unemployed youth. The company has also received notable recognition, including being the first Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) to receive the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) certificate from the Nigeria Customs Service.

Ezenwa emphasised that the anniversary celebration is not just a milestone but a call to sustain entrepreneurship in Africa’s fast-changing economy.

The event was attended by over 300 distinguished guests, including senior government officials, private sector leaders, and development partners, who celebrated Le Look’s legacy of resilience and entrepreneurship.
