Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), the managers of Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2), joined the global community to celebrate World Cleanup Day as it organised a clean-up exercise at the Hajj Park wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
The event, held on September 20, brought together BASL staff and stakeholders to tackle waste management and promote environmental sustainability.
The team, led by Head of Safety Nafisat Adeniran, donated trash bins to the park to encourage proper waste disposal and environmental hygiene. Adeniran emphasised that the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to sustainability and safety beyond the airport’s premises, highlighting the importance of collective efforts in creating a positive impact.
BASL’s Acting Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Remi Jibodu, noted that the event is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility, symbolising its commitment to a clean city and a healthier planet. He added that the initiative aligns with the company’s broader vision of setting standards in aviation services and environmental responsibility.
The Head of Corporate Communications, Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, highlighted the critical role of waste management in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting climate action goals.
According to her, BASL’s participation in World Cleanup Day reinforces its commitment to building a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future for aviation and the communities it serves.
