
The Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has commiserated with Chief Asu Beks, a veteran maritime journalist, over the demise of his wife, Mrs. Helen Asu Beks, who passed away on November 13, 2025.
MWUN President General, Comrade Francis Abi, described the loss as a significant blow to the maritime industry, highlighting Asu Beks’ invaluable contributions as a respected maritime media practitioner.
Abi urged Asu Beks to find solace in the memories of his late wife and to take heart, knowing that there’s life after death. He assured Asu Beks that the union would stand by him during this difficult time, providing moral, physical, and mental support. The MWUN leader prayed for the repose of Mrs. Asu Bek’s soul and for God’s favour upon their children.
In his message of condolence, Abi emphasised that the union would not leave Asu Beks alone in his time of need, reaffirming their commitment to supporting him.
The MWUN family joins Asu Beks in mourning the loss of his beloved wife and prayed for the family’s strength and comfort during this challenging period.
